About Us
Erin Cadet
LMFT
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a private practice serving Brooklyn, NY and surrounding areas in the city and the state of New York.
My emphasis is on sexuality, gender and relational issues. My areas of focus include sexual, racial and relational trauma work, sexual compulsivity, sexual dysfunctions, body image issues, body dysmorphia, body positivity, gender, and non-traditional sexuality, identities, and relationships. I also work with a wide array of folx, including all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and Kink/BDSM/Poly issues.
I believe in an eclectic approach to therapy. I incorporate a variety of modalities from Narrative Therapy, CBT, EFT and Solution Focused to name a few. Regardless of the modality I operate from a social justice, anti-racist, intersectional lense.
I believe in co-collaboration. We work together to find understanding and work through issues brought into treatment. While I do offer suggestions or exercises especially in relational work with partners my hope in our work is to facilitate greater conversations between them so that they have the tools to delve deeper into intimacy and connection outside of my office.
I am continuing my studies at Modern Sex Therapy Institute and am currently a member of American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
My Training
My therapeutic style is creative, collaborative and integrative, incorporating training in several modalities. I received a Masters of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Long Island University: Brooklyn. I have continued my training in Sex Therapy primarily through Modern Sex Therapy Institute. Prior to opening my practice I worked with severely mental ill populations, outpatient mental health in addition to sex therapy.

About
I am an intern from Mercy College working on my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, My hope as a clinician is to be a foundation of hope, strength and a listening ear. I would like to give individuals, couples and families the reassurance of being able to get over the hurdles and traumas that they have been facing in their lives.
As a black, lesbian woman I understand the lack of mental health awareness in our community. Therefore I would like to approach therapy with an anti racist, non judgmental approach to help clients understand the daily difficulties they face. To help find solutions and empower you to over come any challenges so that you can achieve success and peace in your life and relationships.

No two stories are the same, and you are the only one who truly knows your own story. As we go through life, we can get lost and overwhelmed, unsure of our direction and caught off guard by life’s many challenges. If you find yourself in this position, I would like to help you find your way. I would like to help you uncover your truth through questioning, reflecting, and at times, challenging you when necessary.
As a bisexual woman, I embrace people of all identities and sexualities. I approach every story with an open mind and empathic curiosity. I will engage you from a non-pathologizing, sex-positive, gender-affirming stance, so that you may embrace every part of yourself. I provide individual and couples therapy, as well as sessions for those in alternative relationships. Together we can navigate our way through your relationship and personal challenges, overcome cultural limitations that seek to restrict us, and ultimately find inner joy during times when it appears out of reach.
